(Alfred:) Another day at the Kenu & Kundu Festival, doing a video interview with Brian Brunton, founder of the Milnebay Enviroment Protection Group about relations of artistic production and politcal/social activism in the area. They have set up a stand at the festival, with a painting wall for kids, traditional food, talks and info materials.
(Alfred:) At the evening, 28Kreatif hosts a big party event, an exhibition of paintings, live music and dance performances, disco etc. What a great evening! Itvs getting very late…
(Marion:) Saturday night the 28K (28 stands for the waist size which is predominant in the Milne Bay area and is a mocking term for the small and skinny people from these area/ K stands for creative) had organised their first event ever. Lucky us we could be part of the presentation of their activities which consists of painting, dancing, performing, music, singing and fashion shows. A very vigorous and enjoyable show of what is 28 K capable of. The event was accompanied by great food ( two roasted pigs – of course-) and free drinks, the latter wasn’t maybe not the best idea because at the end around 12 o’clock at seems that everybody (except a few people) had been completely drunk. Despite this it was a wonderful feast and very good start for 28K.
