For many years Jakob Roepke has been working on a series of small-sized gouaches, showing animals, human figures and other protagonists facing the hazards of life and every-day on stage-like sets. Materials of this work-process as well as finished paintings will be sent from Berlin to Papua New Guinea, to be worked with and worked on by a local artist. Hopefully a fruitful and surprising correspondence may develop out of leaving familiar pieces of art-work into a completely new context.
