Getisa Jacob is born in Markham District, Morobe Province, now lives in Port Moresby.
This Lutheran church hymn was originally composed by my grandparents with German missionaries. The lyrics has its German translation but we don’t sing the German translation anymore and also the song has been sung in the local Adzera language traditional style of singing. Most German elements are not in the song now.
Anutu (God)
Anufu’u mpadaratar isu intap marabuntup
(God live forever, is like a great mountain)
Anutu-u mpadaratar isu intap marabuntup
(God live forever, is like a great mountain)
Ao-wa-oh, ao-wa-oh-oh, ao-wa-oh
Garam nanm rugan iru, Yesu rubi-i agio
(God’s son Jesus came down to earth for us, Jesus still brings us together)
Garam narun rugan iru, Yesu rubi-I agio
(God’s son Jesus came down to earth for us, Jesus still brings us together)
Ao-wa’oh, ao-wa-oh-oh, ao-wa-oh
